Resilience comes through our commitment to a universal culture of justice also in synergy with religious communities around the world
Attendance at the 2024 Assembly of the LCWR – one of two associations of leaders of Catholic religious congregations in the United States – confirms the need for justice in communities and in the world
Let us weave plots of love and courage in our fragmented world that call for a culture of universal justice! This is how we could summarise the message gathered by Sister Yolanda Sanchez, Congregational Counsellor, through her participation in the 2024 Assembly of the US LCWR Association (Source: www.olcgs.org)
LCWR 2024 Assembly Weaves Threads of Justice at the Dawn of the Future
«Participating in the LCWR was a moment of grace and blessing» said Sister Yolanda Sanchez, «Something resonated in my heart and spirit: the call to transformative justice...One of the strong messages shared: to be a healing presence in the world, to make voices of hope and courage heard, a moral authority with values of reconciliation, mercy and justice».
Sister Yolanda’s testimony makes us imagine intercontinental bridges for universal resilience in our dark times, characterised by indifference and hostility especially towards migrants. Yet Pope Francis -in his message for the World Day of the Migrant and Refugee- points them out to us as a ‘contemporary icon of God’s people on the move.’
