We accept the invitation of our Regional Manager to ‘do wonders’ in the Local Communities

The August Bulletin of the congregation hosted a message from Sister Fatima from the Southern Europe Region (https://www.olcgs.org/working-wonders-restructuring-and-new-communities-in-the-south-europe-region/) which speaks of the desire to live mission and community life with a new dynamism, favoured by the emerging forms of governance.

The new governance structures in our Region include several types of ‘groupings’, even between houses belonging to different countries: one bringing together realities from Portugal and Spain and the other involving realities from Italy and Malta.

The wonders that can be born of communion between different histories, cultures, visions become ‘a challenge for the leadership skills of the [canonical] community leaders’ in collaboration with the sisters in charge of the specific houses.

Sister Fatima reminds us that ‘our Constitutions are very rich and clear in this respect’: «community life is an expression of the mutual love that unites us. Gathered together in the name of Christ, we are a community founded in faith, living in hope, striving to achieve perfect charity» (Const. No. 32).

Thank you, Sister Fatima, for this invitation of yours to create forms of solidarity between sisters and communities called to value diversity for the continuity of the Charism and the future of the Mission together with lay partners with whom we share the compass of values that we recognise in the spiritual and apostolic life of our Founders, especially in that of Saint Mary Euphrasia: a woman capable of reaching the heart of the present generation.
