In full harmony with the Synod’s guidelines: a path of communion, participation and mission

The 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops concludes today in Rome: “It is not easy, but it is beautiful, it is very beautiful. A Synod that all the bishops of the world wanted,’ said Pope Francis at the opening of the Assembly on 4 October.

"Let us descend into the plain,
and may the Grace experienced sustain us in being artisan
of synodality in the ordinary life of our communities."

Pope Francis, Lenten Asceticism, Synodal Itinerary 2023.

The compass for a Church on the move points to three directions in total harmony with our Call to Action:

A COMMUNION THAT RADIATES
CO-RESPONSIBILITY IN MISSION
PARTICIPATION, ACCOUNTABILITY AND AUTHORITY

A whole journey that regenerates the culture of encounter so dear to Pope Francis.

The image of the Visitation seems to us very evocative of the mystery of nascent life, of the mystery of regenerated mission, of the unheard of Grace and, above all, of the intergenerational aspect that characterises our Southern Europe Region.

We must walk, we must always seek.
But the true and ultimate reality comes towards us, seeks us out
only if we walk and go towards it.
And when we have found it,
for we are found,
we will realise that our own going towards it
was sustained, through grace,
by the power of God,
which was coming towards us”.

(Karl Rahner, Things of Everyday Life)
