International Justice and Peace Office prepares for the 67th UN Commission on the Status of Women

The sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 6 to 17 March 2023 and will consider the priority theme of, “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls“.

The CSW is the leading global intergovernmental body dedicated exclusively to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The session will also review the agreed conclusions of the sixty-second session, “Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls“.

La sessione di quest’anno esaminerà anche le conclusioni concordate della sessantaduesima sessione, “Sfide e opportunità nel raggiungimento dell’uguaglianza di genere e dell’empowerment delle donne e delle ragazze rurali“.

For today’s session “Girls and Women Impacting the Digital Revolution”, the staff of the International Justice and Peace Office in New York, coordinated by Sister Winifred Doherty in collaboration with Kimberly Moloche

prepared a virtual panel to which Good Shepherd girls from around the world were invited to participate.

We are certain that participation in the CSW will be a valuable opportunity to increasingly characterise the Good Shepherd mission in respect of human rights and Agenda 2030.

This was also the case for us in the Italy-Malta Unit when, in 2021, we participated at the invitation of the International Justice and Peace Office in the session on gender-based violence at CSW65, making an ad hoc video entitled “We are all embarked. Gender-based and witnessing violence challenges us’.
