15 NOVEMBER – IV World Day of the Poor
"Hold out your hand to the poor man"
(Sir 7,32)
It is called "Live as a poor man, with the poor" the day wanted by Pope Francis who invites us to "reach out our hands to the poor", especially in these months when the pandemic has brought new poverties close to us.
‘Hold out your hand to the poor man'(cf. Sir 7:32).
‘Ancient wisdom has placed these words as a sacred code to be followed in life. Today they resonate with all their meaning to help us to focus our gaze on the essential and to overcome the barriers of indifference. Poverty always takes on different faces, requiring attention to every particular condition: in each of these we can encounter the Lord Jesus, who revealed himself to be present in his weakest brothers and sisters (cf. Mt 25:40).
